Today I have the pleasure of chatting with Debbie Johnson, a law of attraction coach at GuidedAbundance.com.

Glimmers of Spring – New Life!

Lasts week's coaching session with a client centered on the new path she has chosen and the concrete actions she has taken. Her newly found path is truly a celebration since it came after many years of trying to discover the next right step. 

 At the end of our session, she offhandedly mentioned that she had seen 10 robins in her yard the next morning after our last coaching session. The robins caught her eye because it is a bit unusual to see robins in early February here in Rhode Island – plus, to see such a gathering was a bit astonishing. She told me that she watched them for quite a while as they flew from a bare maple tree to a holly tree.  

Best of all she felt the robins were sent as a confirmation that "yes"  new life is truly unfolding for her. 

I believe we always get signs and confirmations from the Universe and I love it that Nature in the form of the robin - Spring's bird -- came to rest at her home.

Answering the Call

I had an amazing session with Michele, my coach, Monday afternoon.  In the session we came to the realization that The Universe has been nudging me, sending me "universal flirts" as she likes to call them.

Almost a year ago I attended Jane Pollak's weekend retreat called "Create Your Own Future."  As you've probably guessed from the title, the retreat was about envisioning your future. The last evening we all attended a party where we arrived as who we would be in 2013. I came to the party carrying a mock book jacket of my published book, along with a glowing New York Times review on the book cover and a beautiful bio. All year I've had my book jacket sitting on my office bookshelf – lately, it seems to be calling me.  

So, with my coach's encouragement I've started writing. I can actually see and feel this book in my hands already published.

I would really like to read this book and imagine returning to it again and again like an old friend. I am beginning this journey with a real sense of adventure fully knowing that it will offer great learning for me and allow me to "connect the dots" in a new way. 

However, I must share with you that as I metaphorically throw my backpack on my back and begin the journey the load feels light. I am not tied to the outcome of this book in any way and my undertaking is diffused of loaded expectations. In truth, I am writing this book for me! Why?

It will bring me "JOY." OK, of course, I would welcome readers but that is not my true motivation.

I'm curious about what is calling you in your life right now. Where are you looking? Is the sound faint, off in the distance? Is it banging for your attention? Is your call consistently nudging you on the shoulder? If it does not immediately come to the surface, write out all the things you think you "should," "need," and "ought." Good. Once you get that top layer of mind chatter out of the way, listen again. Is The Universe flirting with you? Will you answer The Call?

The Sky is Falling (or so "They" say!)

  Yesterday, the news reported that Rhode Island has the highest unemployment rate in the country - a dubious honor to be sure! Of course, I don't have to tell you the effect of this announcement ----- panic,  anxiety and fear abound in conversations about what is going to happen and how we will survive. This has me thinking about Chicken Little and how looking up, standing still, and waiting for the sky to fall serves no one. How quickly we can tap into the panic mode, if we allow ourselves to start down that slippery path!

As for me, I have made the conscious choice to stay present in the NOW and to continue to take positive, life-affirming steps.

For me, that means continuing to build my coaching business, reaching out to volunteer in my community, and spending time with my family and friends. I know that times of change and 
uncertainty are opportunity just turned inside out.

Collecting Evidence toward Transformation

    I am in one of Jane Pollak's coaching/mastermind groups where I was encouraged to carry around the vision of what I wanted to create for my business in my back pocket.  I am pleased to announce that I have started to collect evidence that there is momentum bubbling.

Here are my results:  3 opportunities to speak/present mini-workshops before mid- November; 2 invitations to women's gatherings; and just yesterday morning I ran into someone that has been on my list of people to call.   I (gulp) decided to walk back over to her, after having been only introduced moments before, and told her that I was a certified life coach with a passion to work with women to transform their lives...........and she invited me to a women's wellness night in early December.  

I'm thrilled to notice what is starting to show up!
